Mini Retirement #1: After getting bitten by the travel bug in 2015, I decided to delay “adulting” for a bit and travel around Europe for 12 months after graduating from Tufts University in 2016. I spent time solo traveling, traveling with friends, 3.5 months studying Spanish, and some time working as an au pair in Spain.

Mini Retirement #2: After spending almost 2.5 years working at a tech startup in the San Francisco area, I decided to quit my job in Sept 2019 to begin traveling again. The plan was to travel for 18 months, but Covid ended those dreams 5 months later so back to work I went. Luckily my old company took me back and I spent another 3 years working there & living in San Francisco.

Mini Retirement #3: Until…. I got laid off in Feb 2023. Good news was I was already planning a redo of the previous trip since it got cut short. I grabbed my backpack and took off again in June 2023. I’ve been to all 7 continents so far and have been to over 30 more new countries. I’m still going strong in 2025 and have plans to travel through the end of the year at the minimum. We’ll see what 2026 brings 🙂
